Patrick Nicolau is proudly married and living a fulfilling life, a testament to the support he received from Teen Challenge. During his teenage years, Patrick battled addiction for years, struggling to find a way out. His life changed when he was admitted to Teen Challenge, where the dedication and care of those around him helped him get clean and find purpose. Grateful for their unwavering commitment, even when he couldn’t commit to himself, Patrick vowed to make a difference for others.
Now in his fifth year running ECOtread with his business partner, Josh, Patrick channels his experiences into creating positive change. Together, they’ve built a business focused on sustainability and community impact, helping teens find hope and a way forward—just as he once did.

Joshua Nicolau is proudly married and living an incredible life, having undergone a profound personal transformation. While his journey shares some similarities with Patrick’s, his story centers around a shift in character. Struggling with alcohol from the age of 13, Joshua’s personality changed from that of a kind, sweet kid to a troubled young man battling addiction. After finishing high school and pursuing a career as a Tinner, he was confronted about his destructive habits and made the courageous decision to change.
Today, Joshua is a passionate advocate for mental health and supports teens and young adults in navigating life without turning to alcohol or substances like weed to cope. Instead, he encourages responsibility, accountability, and self-growth, helping young people build better futures for themselves.
